Victor Osimhen rejects Chelsea’s salary offer; Blues trying to convince Nigerian striker: Reports
Victor Osimhen has rejected Chelsea’s 155K Euros a week salary offer. The Blues delegation are in Naples as they try to convince the Nigerian striker to make a move to Stamford Bridge. In case an agreement isn’t reached, Osimhen will stay at Napoli.
The talismanic striker has wanted out of Napoli during the summer transfer window. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain were among clubs interested in the striker who has shown his goalscoring prowess in Italian football. Chelsea have recently been the frontrunner but they have failed to reach an agreement on personal terms with Osimhen. Journalist Fabrice Hawkins reports on the matter:
“Chelsea’s latest offer to Victor Osimhen: €155 000 per week. Rejected by the player. Chelsea delegation is in Napoli as reported, still trying to convince him. If no agreement he will stay in Italy.”
Chelsea are keen on bringing a new striker who can churn out goals week in and week out. Nicolas Jackson is not experienced at the top level and he has been error-prone. A proven marksman like Osimhen would have been a massive addition to Enzo Maresca’s ranks. The club, however, has failed to convince Osimhen on personal terms.
