Tottenham Eye Ivan Toney as Man Utd, Chelsea, and others reduce interest in the Brentford Striker
According to ‘TEAMtalk’ Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Brentford’s England international Ivan Toney. The striker has been linked with several other Premier League clubs in recent times as well. Teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and West Ham have also been reportedly keeping tabs on the 28-year-old.
The report enlists that the interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal’s hierarchy in Toney has cooled down in the last week or so. This eventually lands Spurs as the front-runner in the pursuit of signing the player as of now.
However, West Ham are still tipped to be in the line for Ivan Toney, but it is expected that Ange Postecoglou’s side could well beat the Hammers for the striker’s signature if the final battle comes down between both of them.
Though the Bees were initially expected to ask a sum of about £75-100 million for their talisman Ivan Toney, it is understood that they have notched their valuation down after the player’s betting-ban saga and currently could oblige for a deal in line between £40-50 million.
Any potential deal in that range certainly makes Spurs capable of signing him, as a striker like him could enhance their attacking prowess. Also, with questions looming over Richarlison’s future, Toney might turn out to be the man for Postecoglou at Tottenham.
