Arsenal close to sign Riccardo Calafiori this summer

The Gunners are still in talks over a possible move for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori as the English giants are eager to sign a left-footed defender this summer.

According to reports, a transfer fee of €40m has now been agreed between Arsenal and Bologna, but the Gunners aren’t able to get the deal across the line. Mikel Arteta has identified the 22-year-old defender as a key target but a disagreement over a sell-on clause has caused a delay.

Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Arsenal and Bologna are very close in reaching a total agreement for the transfer of the Italian defender.

Personal terms has already been ironed up between both parties but the prospect of Calafiori participating in the upcoming Arsenal pre-season friendlies appears to be increasingly remote.
