Stefan Savic Transfer: Defender set to leave Atletico Madrid after nine years, learning interest from Saudi Arabia
After spending nine seasons with Atletico Madrid, Stefan Savic is considering leaving the club earlier than the expected notion. The Montenegrin is actually still on-contract with Rojiblancos for another season but a move appears to be inevitable for the player.
Earlier in March, Savic had just renewed his contract with Atletico, making him stay for another season in La Liga with the capital-based side. Spanish-based media outlet Relevo reported that Savic is looking for another adventure opportunity somewhere else outside Europe.

“Stefan Savić can leave Atlético in the summer despite extending his contract for one more year,” Romano posted. “Savić, open to new chapter after many years at Atléti and ready to leave this summer.”
Savic came from Fiorentina in the summer of 2015. He went on to play 296 games since then, scoring 10 goals and winning multiple trophies with the club. One LaLiga title, two UEFA Super Cups, and one Europa League are the trophies Savic has won during his stay at the Spain capital.
This season, Savic took Atletico to the Champions League quarter final before being eliminated by Borussia Dortmund. In La Liga, the task to compete in the title race was tough with Atletico having to secure a two-point addition in order to play in the Champions League next season.
