Sofyan Amrabat keen on Manchester United return as Fiorentina discuss terms of the deal: Reports

Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is keen on returning to Manchester United after a fairly successful loan spell with the club last season. This is as per reports from Tutto Mercato Web, which add that the Italian side wants to enter negotiations and swiftly move on whether the deal will be a paid loan or a discounted transfer.

Amrabat was brought in by Manchester United at the start of the 2023/24 campaign as a backup for the inconsistent and injury-prone Casemiro. However, as the season progressed and the Red Devils faced shortages in central defense, the Moroccan international was deployed in unnatural positions as well.

He made 30 total appearances for United across competitions during his loan spell last year and picked up nine yellow cards in the process. Aged just 27, he could be a valuable asset for the team should they decide to move on from Casemiro (32), who is showing signs of a sharp decline since entering his 30s.
