10 best Tottenham kits of all time
Tottenham Hotspur are one of the ‘Big 6’ clubs in the Premier League. While they haven’t won any trophy since 2008, their cabinet still boasts 17 major trophies, along with multiple other honors.
Spurs were also the first English team to win a major European trophy, winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1963. Their last trophy came in the form of the League Cup in 2008.
Tottenham have always been known for their attractive attacking playing style. While they drifted from it in recent seasons under managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, they’ve returned to their identity through Ange Postecoglou.
However, it isn’t only their playing style that is known to be attractive. Spurs have also had some excellent kits over the years. They are known as Lilywhites, with white being their primary color along with navy blue. They have had some stunning home kits but also some innovative away kits.
On that note, let’s take a look at Tottenham’s best kits of all time:
10. Home kit – 2016-17
The 2016-17 season was a special one for Tottenham as it was their final one at White Hart Lane. They spent two years at Wembley before moving into their new stadium. They were unbeaten at home that season and finished second in the Premier League, seven points behind rivals Chelsea.
For the 2016-17 season, Under Armour created a white kit with navy blue patches on the shoulders. It also had a golden stripe on the collar and on the sleeve to add another layer to the kit.
9. Away kit – 2001-02
The 2001-02 Spurs kit was made by Adidas and it was a beauty. It was made in a light blue shade with bold navy strips on the sleeves and accents on the collars and the shirt. The collar itself was a V-shaped one.
The north London side finished ninth in the Premier League that season but reached the League Cup final, only to lose to Blackburn Rovers.
8. Home Kit – 2002-04
Spurs had the same kit for the mentioned two seasons, made by Kappa. It was a simpler jersey, which was mostly white with a navy thread around the torso. It also had navy strips on the end of the sleeves and on the collar, which was a crew neck.
While the shirt was decent, the two seasons weren’t for Tottenham. They finished 10th in the Premier League in the 2002-03 season. The following season, they avoided relegation and finished 14th but saw their arch-rivals Arsenal win the famous ‘Invincibles’ Premier League title.

7. Away kit – 2023-24
Spurs brought in a new era in the 2023-24 season as they appointed Ange Postecoglou ahead of the season. It was a return to their philosophy of attacking football after 4-5 years of terrible football. Ange brought fresh tactics, ideas, and identity to the club.
It was certainly matched by their kit as well, made by Nike. The Spurs’ away kit for the 2023-24 season was a navy kit with some light blue accents. It also had a collar, which was a lighter shade of blue than the shirt itself.
They finished 5th in the table that season.
6. Third kit – 1991-94
Another kit that lasted more than one season was Tottenham’s third kit between 1991 and 1994. It was a light blue kit with a navy blue shade from the shoulder to the chest area. It also had light navy stripes and a navy blue collar. The navy color of their sponsor back then ‘Holsten’ also matched the kit perfectly.
In the 1991-92 season, Spurs won the Charity Shield and reached the League Cup semi-finals. They reached the FA Cup semi-finals the following season.
5. Away kit – 2016-17
The 2016-17 season certainly lived up to the billing in terms of the away kit as well. Under Armour, who were in the final year of their contract with Spurs, made a navy kit with gold accents. The sponsor, logo, and badge were all in gold along with horizontal stripes on the sleeve and on the crew-neck collar.

4. Home kit – 1999-2000
This Tottenham kit was also a rather simple one but displayed elegance and class all over. A primarily white shirt, it had vertical navy stripes on the sleeves along with a navy V-shaped collar. It was also made by Adidas and the sponsor ‘Holsten’ made it look better.
That season wasn’t the best for Spurs though, as they finished 10th in the Premier League and were eliminated early in the domestic cup competitions.
3. Away kit – 1994-95
The 1994-95 away kit was again primarily navy but also had purple accents to it. It was brilliantly seamed by Umbro and they put the Spurs logo on a badge, adding another layer to the jersey’s feel. It also had a collar which was nicely highlighted with white accents.
The north London side reached the FA Cup semi-finals that season, losing against Everton. They finished seventh in the Premier League.
2. Home – 1985-87
Tottenham’s home kit for the 1985-87 was special for multiple reasons. It was made by Hummels and was primarily a white shirt with the sponsor ‘Holsten’ in the middle. It had light navy arrows running from right to left above the sponsor with diagonal navy stripes from the shoulder to the chest. The neck was a V-shaped one.
The jersey became even more special in 1986 when the late Diego Maradona donned it in his compatriot Ossie Ardiles’ testimonial match. Spurs reached the FA Cup final in the 1986-87 season, losing against Coventry City.
1. Home – 1991-93
Tottenham’s home kit for the 1991-93 season tops our list. The kit, which was made by Umbro, saw them win the Charity Shield in the 1991-92 season.
However, the kit is special for another reason. Spurs introduced this kit in the previous season itself (1990-91). They introduced it for their FA Cup final, where they beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 after extra time. Gary Lineker and the great Paul Gascoigne were among the legends to have worn this kit.
The kit itself was very simple. It was pure white with a navy blue collar, with the sponsor ‘Holsten’ in the middle.
