Release clause of Chelsea target Enzo Maresca revealed
Premier League club Chelsea are racing in time to secure a deal for managerial positions in the club next season. One of the names that has been rumoured to be The Blues target is Enzo Maresca, who successfully took Leicester City back to the Premier League.
Everything has to be calculated perfectly by Chelsea management to make it on the money. On paper, Maresca will still be under contract with Leicester until the summer of 2026. Thus, making him leave The Foxes will not be free.
Chelsea have to match the price
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, revealed that the West London-based club have to spend at least £7 or £8 million to set Maresca free from King Power Stadium.
The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that Chelsea are looking for a progressive and energetic person to take over the job from Mauricio Pochettino. Maresca is considered to match the criteria as he is a possession-oriented type of manager where parking the bus would never be an option.
Maresca is not a stranger for the likes of Romeo Lavia and Cole Palmer as he was working under Pep Guardiola as an assistant in Manchester City. Along the way, Todd Boehly and his colleagues are working the best for Chelsea this season.
