BREAKING: Reputed journalist claims Erik ten Hag will leave Manchester United in the summer
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Erik ten Hag is set to leave Manchester United this summer. The Dutchman’s reign has come under scrutiny in recent times. United managed an eighth-placed finish in the league this season, their worst of the Premier League era.
Apart from the inconsistent results, there are also suggestions that the Red Devils lack identity in terms of their playing style. All things considered, Ten Hag’s methods have come under the scanner.
The Dutchman joined the club in 2022 and led them to a top-four finish and the Carabao Cup trophy in his first season. However, their league performances deteriorated massively this season. Manchester United, however, have the FA Cup final coming up against Manchester City.
Di Marzio has now reported that Ten Hag will depart at the end of the season. A decision, though, isn’t expected to be made before the FA Cup final. Ten Hag has also been linked with the Bayern Munich job.
Who could replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United?
There are few world-class managers without clubs at the moment. Names like Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel, and Graham Potter have been discussed as Ten Hag’s replacement. Mauricio Pochettino has also recently parted ways with Chelsea. Roberto De Zerbi has also left Brighton.
Ipswich Town’s Kieran Mckenna is another candidate to take over at Old Trafford. Hence, there isn’t a shortage of candidates. However, any official decision regarding Ten Hag’s future hasn’t been announced.
