PSG considering Chelsea’s Levi Colwill as long-term option
Levi Colwill to PSG could be a possibility in the coming future as the French giants are reportedly keen on securing the youngster’s signature. French football expert Jonathan Johnson confirmed that the Parisians are long-term admirers of the 21-year-old centre-back.
Ligue 1 champions looking to bolster defensive options
Colwill has been a top performer in the Premier league as he starred for Brighton & Hove Albion last season while on loan, playing 17 times in the league driving them to a stunning sixth-place finish. He returned to Chelsea later that summer and has since continued in the same vein.

A key figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s set-up, the defender’s meteoric rise to prominence hasn’t gone unnoticed with Europe’s top guns. PSG are supposedly interested in him. Johnson confirmed that Colwill is being eyed as an alternative to Lille’s Leny Yono. He said:
“As recently reported by Ben Jacobs, PSG like Levi Colwill of Chelsea and may be prepared to play the long game to get him. The former Brighton defender is a PSG player have ear-marked as a potential option in the defensive positions, but he’s probably more of an alternative at the moment to the one they have made their priority, and that’s Leny Yoro.”
He further reported that Colwill too is interested in joining the Ligue 1 giants to advance his career.
“The young Lille centre-back is the outstanding candidate for PSG – he is the player PSG absolutely want to be able to bring in this summer. He’s also keen to join PSG and further his career with them. He also has the added bonus of being French and from the Paris region, so it’s a good fit for where the PSG project is going.
Colwill is someone PSG will look to and explore in case they can’t sign Yoro, but I think the idea that they might wait a bit longer is accurate, because he could probably still do with more time to develop at Chelsea . He is a player that PSG are looking at with a view to the long term.”
PSG transfer could propel Colwill
Levi Colwill’s burgeoning career might be propelled further with a move to PSG. As Chelsea continue to go through the motions, another trophyless season is on the cards. Jumping ships to Parc des Princes will at least guarantee him some trophies, and the chance to play alongside some of Europe’s finest stars. Such an environment is conducive to his growth as a professional footballer, and might as well refine his talents further.
