“I’m still his agent” – John Obi Mikel claims Victor Osimhen to Chelsea is 20% done

John Obi Mikel has confirmed that Chelsea and Victor Osimhen are interested in getting a transfer done this summer. The former footballer has told Ben Jacobs that he is working on the deal as an agent as he wants the Manchester United target to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Mikel went on to joke that he was getting 20% of the deal as he was pushing for the move and acting as an agent. He added that the striker should pick London as the city to live in instead of Liverpool or any other in the United Kingdom.

He said:

“I think there is genuine interest between both. He loves the club, he wants to come to the club. Obviously he wants to follow my footsteps as a Nigerian player who has played for Chelsea. London is a fantastic city, instead of going to Liverpool, places like that. I’m still Osimhen’s agent when trying to get him to Chelsea. I’ve got 20% of that deal, so I hope it works out!”

This is not the first time Mikel has spoken about Osimhen moving to Chelsea. He urged the forward to make the move when the Napoli star was invited on the Obi One podcast. He said:

“It’s not the time to go to Saudi. Next season I know you’re going to come to Chelsea. I’m going to be the agent to broker that deal. You’re 100% coming to Chelsea! I’m going to make sure that deal happens because we are crying out for someone like you. Since the big man left the club, you know Didier Drogba, my teammate, we haven’t had anybody with that figure, that stature, that personality.”

Victor Osimhen has admitted that he used to watch Didier Drogba’s Chelsea videos and also try to emulate him on the pitch. He added that he still watching compilations of the legendary Ivory Coast striker and said on the podcast:

“I had two jersey’s from my brother when I was a kid – Chelsea and Manchester United. When I was playing grassroots [I was compared to Didier Drogba]. We used to use my brothers phone [to watch Drogba]. I would then go on the pitch and try to [emulate] at his game [and learn]. I still watch Drogba’s comps now.”

Osimhen has scored 11 goals in 15 Serie A matches this season. He has two more goals in the UEFA Champions League games. However, he managed just one goal and three assists in AFCON this year.
