Pep Guardiola hints possible Man City contract extension

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could stay beyond the 2024/25 season as he might consider extending his contract with the Cityzens. The Spaniard has entered the final 12 months of his contract and has hinted at the possibility of staying longer in a recent interview.

The former Barcelona manager has been in charge of City for the past eight seasons and has won the Premier League on six occasions. In the interview, Guardiola has emphasised that he hasn’t made any final decision on his Man City future. His last contract extension was signed back in November 2022.

“I know maybe I was not correct to say in the right moment, when we won the Premier League, but I’m saying that I’ve been eight years in Man City so I’m not being here for eight more years,” he stated. “That’s why I’m closer to leaving than staying. But I didn’t say I’m leaving.”
