OFFICIAL: Liverpool signs winger Federico Chiesa on a long-term contract

Federico Chiesa has completed his permanent move to Liverpool from Juventus and has penned a four-year contract with the Reds. The 26-year-old Italian winger has joined for a reported £10m, with a further £2.5m in add-ons.

The forward arrived in England on Wednesday to complete his medical and will wear the No. 14 shirt for the Merseyside giants in the ongoing season. Chiesa was banished from the first-team squad by Juventus manager Thiago Motta with his contract set to expire next summer.

He has turned out 131 times for the Old Lady and scored 32 goals in the process.

“I’m so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, ‘do you want to join Liverpool?’ – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans,” Chiesa told the club website.

“So, I’m so happy and I can’t wait to get started.”
