New club emerges in pursuit of Jadon Sancho before transfer deadline
In a recent development coming in ahead of the transfer deadline, a new club has joined the race to secure Jadon Sancho’s signature.
Jadon Sancho was noticeably absent from the Manchester United squad in their narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham at Old Trafford. This omission has intensified speculation regarding his potential departure from the club, despite his recent reintegration into the first team during pre-season. Sancho’s relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag had been strained after a public disagreement, leading many to question his future at the club.
Meanwhile, The Athletic reported that Manchester United is anticipating a bid from Premier League rivals Chelsea for Sancho in the coming days. Despite Chelsea’s current efforts to reduce their squad size, they have continued to make significant signings, including the recent acquisition of Joao Felix. This interest from Chelsea suggests that they are keen to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes.

United’s Dilemma: Sell or Keep Sancho?
However, in a surprising turn of events, Spanish outlet Sport has reported that Barcelona is also considering a move for the 24-year-old winger. The Catalan club views Sancho as a backup option if their attempts to sign Juventus star Federico Chiesa fall through. This development comes after earlier reports suggested that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick had expressed interest in bringing Marcus Rashford to Camp Nou. Flick is reportedly seeking a forward with strong dribbling and finishing abilities, identifying Rashford as an ideal candidate.
It’s believed that a fee of at least €40 million could be enough to convince Manchester United to part ways with Sancho, following a challenging year at the club. Sancho’s impressive loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, where he played a crucial role in their journey to the Champions League final last season, could influence United’s decision. However, it remains unclear whether Erik ten Hag has plans to reintegrate Sancho into his long-term strategy at Old Trafford.
