Napoli director gives key update on Victor Osimhen’s future amid Chelsea links
Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has been linked with an exit from Napoli since the start of this summer window, with Chelsea and PSG looking to sign the forward. Now, with less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Osimhen’s future remains up in the air.
Earlier, it was discussed that Romelu Lukaku would re-unite with Antonio Conte at Napoli, with Osimhen moving in opposite directions as part of the same transaction. But, Napoli director Giovanni Manna has discussed Osimhen’s situation and explained how it affected the club’s preparations for the season.
“You all know fully well the Osimhen situation was already there when I arrived and will be dealt with exclusively by the club,” he said.
“I did not get into the situation. You all know that the transfer market is very complicated and [the deal is] currently blocked. I cannot say any more than that.”
There’s a possibility that the Nigerian international might end up staying at Serie A for one more year.
