Manchester City Set to Announce Sávio as First Summer Signing
Manchester City are poised to make Sávio’s transfer official this week marking their first signing of the summer window. The Brazilian winger will join from Troyes, a move that has been in the pipeline since February according to Fabrizio Romano.
The deal which has been eagerly anticipated by City fans was facilitated by the City Football Group which owns both Troyes and Girona where Sávio spent last season on loan.
His standout performances at Girona where he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 41 appearances caught the eye of City’s scouts.
Sávio is well known for his blistering speed and impressive dribbling and is expected to be integrated directly into Pep Guardiola’s first team. Unlike other young signings, he will not be sent out on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The 19-year-old’s official presentation is slated for this week in Manchester provided there are no last-minute changes.
The opportunity to play under Guardiola was a significant factor in Sávio’s decision as he believes the renowned manager can enhance his development and boost his chances with the Brazilian national team.
