Liverpool accept £30million bid for defender from local rivals
Liverpool have reportedly accepted a bid worth £30 million from Brentford for defender Sepp van den Berg, according to Sky Sports News (via 90min). A deal has been struck between the clubs after progress in negotiations were reported earlier this week.
Brentford have agreed to pay an initial fee of £25 million plus a further £5 million in add-ons. However, it is also stated that Van den Berg is yet to approve the move, and is considering other options too, such as Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen. They are stacked with talents in the centre-back position, but all three of their options – Edmond Tapsoba, Jonathan Tah and Odilon Kossounou have interests from other sides, and anyone leaving could open the door for Van den Berg.
