Latest update on Bukayo Saka injury with a new return date confirmed

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka suffered an injury ahead of their final game against Everton in the Premier League season. He picked up a muscle injury and was unfortunately unavailable to play the final game of the season.

Gareth Southgate gives an update on Bukayo Saka injury

England national football team thrashed Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 last night and Bukyo Saka was a notable absentee, even though the player was included in the provisional squad for the upcoming Euros in Germany.

England manager Gareth Southgate has revealed that some of the players are currently sidelined and could make their come back in the coming days, including Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

“[Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Anthony Gordon] are progressing well so we’re pleased with the progress they’ve made,” Southgate told a press conference.

“None of them will be involved (against Bosnia and Herzegovina). Same for Bukayo [Saka] and John Stones

“Bukayo is fine, and is progressing well, but the periodisation we’ve taken from his injury is to rest and then he should be available for Friday.”

England will play Iceland on Friday at Wembley Stadium and Southgate expects Saka to be fit before the Three Lions head off to Germany for the main event.

The Arsenal winger also missed out on the March international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium due to a minor muscle issue.
