Club Career
Gleison Bremer grew up in Brazil, impressing his local friends on the street, who mostly displayed solid defending on futsal when Deportivo Brasil took him on. He ended up being one of the best players of his age at the club and would go on loan to Atletico Mineiro, where he had a breakthrough, winning two trophies with the club as they defeated their rivals Flamengo in one of the finals.
He was then signed by Italian side Torino on a five-year deal. He would make over 95 appearances for them, scoring 11 times as a defender, with his key power headers being unstoppable for goalkeepers. His stature and stability to lead the backline was recognized by one of the top sides in Turin itself as Juventus signed the talented Brazilian for a reported 50 million euros. Having made 72 appearances for the club and impressing the fans, he is yet to find stability as fans await his return from an ACL injury to his left knee.
After making 110 appearances for Torino in over 4 seasons, keeping over 30 clean sheets, and scoring 11 times, Bremer made waves in Italy. He also won the Defender of the Season, making Italian giants Juventus move for him at €50 million, making him a key addition to Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
While Bremer has been a solid player for most of his career, he has been inconsistent due to his current move to Juventus, which is in turmoil due to managerial changes. While his performances have been impressive, earning him a spot on the Team of the Year, his potential is still untapped. After missing out most of the current season due to an ACL injury, Bremer’s return to professional football is highly anticipated.

International Career
While Bremer has been a tall and talented defender, it was not until 2021 that he received his first call-up to the national Team for the World Cup qualifiers. Brazilian manager Tite closely watched him, which helped him pick him up again for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Despite Brazil’s poor form, he didn’t feature much as the aging backline of Marquinhos and Thiago Silva kept him on the bench. Since then, he has become a starter for the Brazilian national team and has featured in Copa America matches, making five appearances in total.
