Fulham finalizes transfer deal with Burnley for potential Manchester United’s midfield target: Report

As reported by ‘Sky Sports‘, Premier League’s Fulham have ‘agreed’ upon a deal with EFL Championship side Burnley to sign midfielder Sander Berge. The transfer fee involved in the agreement is reported to be around £20 million (excluding any potential add-ons).

As per various reports in the English media, Sander Berge is also a top transfer target for Manchester United in this window. With Erik ten Hag looking to find solutions in the midfield, players like Berge and Manuel Ugarte are the ones the club has been severely linked with.

Fulham is also on the look for midfield options in the ongoing window, as the departure of Joa Palhinha to Bayer Munich has left a void in terms of options for Marco Silva in that area of the field.

The Cottagers reportedly were ‘keen’ to snatch a deal for a midfield player before the window shuts. Apparently they are still termed interested in Manchester United’s Scott McTominay as well.

On the other hand, despite Fulham being on the brink of landing Sander Berge, ‘Sky Sports’ has termed that the Red Devils are still keeping an ‘open dialogue’ with the Clarets for the midfielder.

It would be interesting to find out how both these clubs would sort out their midfield propositions as the summer transfer window nears its closure.
