Argentina Tops FIFA Men’s Team Rankings for Consecutive 12 Months
FIFA have released the current ranking for all the men’s football teams in the world. The latest international break made changes to the ranking of some nations across the globe including the top tiers.
FIFA Men’s Ranking-Positions switch for the Giants side
England for instance, the two winless results against Brazil (0-1) and Belgium (2-2) during the friendly games at Wembley made them step down the ranking from the third to fourth. At the same time, Belgium replaced the Three Lions in the third while Brazil remained at fifth.

A position switch also occurs in the Netherlands and Portugal. The latter moved up to sixth after the international break. The 2016 Euro champions beat Sweden 5-2 at home on March 22 and surprisingly lost 0-2 to Slovenia five days later.
The most attention-stealing side during the international break, Germany, remained at 16th despite beating fellow Euro champions France and Netherlands. Les Bleus stayed at the second with 1840.59 point collection, losing 4.85 from the previous release.
Several records were made with the latest ranking released
Argentina remained at the top for the past 12 months. Lionel Scaloni’s squad beat El Salvador and Costa Rica during the international break which rewarded them 2.8 additional points. USA climbed two stripes and Gregg Berhalter’s squad now sits at the 11th position in FIFA ranking.
Indonesia somehow recorded the most points with +30.4 thanks to their positive run in the World Cup qualifier matches against Vietnam. Shin Tae-yong’s young squad have beaten Vietnam both home and away with 1-0 and 3-0 victories respectively, leading them to climb the eighth ladder at the rank.
Another record was done by an Eastern African country Comoros which just climbed to their highest FIFA ranking with 117th this month. In the last two matches, coach Paul Put led his squad to beat Uganda with four goals to nil and played a goalless draw against Angola.
