Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos Linked with Premier League Switch to Newcastle United
Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is reportedly garnering interest from Premier League outfit Newcastle United as per recent reports.
Dani Ceballos Achievements with Real Madrid
Ceballos, who joined Real Madrid from Real Betis in 2017 boasts an impressive resume including a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey triumph, and two Champions League titles during his tenure at the Bernabeu.
Despite his accolades, the 27-year-old Spaniard has often found himself playing a peripheral role under managers like Zinedine Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti with the majority of his appearances coming from the bench.
During the 2023-24 campaign, he has started just one La Liga match out of 39 appearances.
Recent developments indicate that Ceballos has been provided limited playing time with only three brief substitute outings since February suggesting he is not a key figure in Ancelotti’s plans.
While Ceballos extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2027 last summer, there is speculation about his potential departure, especially amid the club’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe and the search for a new left-back.

Newcastle In Need of a Midfielder
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle United have emerged as a potential destination for Ceballos in the upcoming transfer window. The Magpies have faced midfield challenges throughout the season exacerbated by Sandro Tonali’s suspension and Joelinton’s injury.
With Tonali facing charges from the Football Association and Joelinton’s uncertain future, Newcastle is reportedly eyeing Ceballos to bolster their midfield options.
Having previously experienced Premier League football during his two-year stint at Arsenal from 2019 to 2021, Ceballos could be a familiar face in England if the move materializes.
While the potential transfer fee remains undisclosed, Newcastle aims to secure Ceballos for a fee lower than the €18m Real Madrid paid for his services seven years ago as they navigate the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations.
As the summer transfer window approaches all eyes will be on whether Newcastle can secure Ceballos’ signature and bolster their midfield ranks ahead of the new season.
