Endrick is a professional footballer who currently plays for Real Madrid at the club level and Brazil at the international level. His full name is Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa and he’s widely regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in world football.

He came through Palmeiras’ ranks and made his name in the Brazilian before Real Madrid signed him up in 2022 when he was just 16 years old. He eventually joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2024 after he turned 18.

He impressed during his time with Palmeiras and Brazil’s U17 team, winning multiple tournaments and individual accolades. This saw him being selected for Brazil’s senior team in 2023.

Endrick Early Life

Interestingly, Endrick’s father played as a professional footballer for multiple small clubs but couldn’t make it big. He eventually joined Palmeiras as a janitor.

Endrick, meanwhile, started playing football when he was just four years old. His father would upload his skills and goals on YouTube to gain publicity from clubs. He even trained at a Real Madrid camp in Brazil with his friends at the age of 8. He became inspired to become a big footballer after seeing the poor financial condition at his home.

He is inspired by footballing legend Cristiano Ronaldo. In an interview, he also hailed Sir Bobby Charlton as his idol along with the likes of Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes.

Club Career

Endrick was close to joining Sao Paulo at the age of 11 but ended up joining Palmeiras. He had a stellar time with the Brazilian giants’ academy, scoring 165 goals in 169 games across different youth levels.

The striker helped Palmeiras win the Copa Sao Paulo de Futebol Junior title in 2022, scoring eight goals in seven games. He made his senior debut in October 2022 in a 4-0 win over Coritiba. In doing so, he became the youngest player to play for Palmeiras at 16 years, two months and 16 days.

He scored his first senior goal in a 3-1 win over Athletico Paranaense in Brazil’s Serie A. He scored a brace in that game. Palmeiras won the league title that season and Endrick was named the most promising youngster in the league.

The striker then scored 11 league goals in the following season, helping his side win the league again. Only Ronaldo Nazario has scored more goals in a single season in Brazil’s Serie A aged under 18.

Impressed by his performances, Real Madrid signed Endrick from Palmeiras in December 2022 for a reported fee of €47 million, including add-ons. However, he could only join them once he turned 18 and he stayed with Palmeiras until then.

The youngster eventually joined the Spanish side in the summer of 2024, signing a six-year contract. He won his first trophy with them in the form of the UEFA Super Cup but he didn’t feature in the game.

International Career

Endrick started his international career with Brazil’s U17 side in 2022. He made his debut in the Montaigu Tournament in France and helped his side win the tournament for the first time since 1984. He scored five goals in four matches, including a goal in the final against Argentina, and was named the Player of the Tournament.

He was then named in Brazil’s U23 side but they failed to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Endrick made his senior debut in November 2023 in a 2-1 defeat against Colombia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Endrick scored his first goal for Brazil’s senior team in a 1-0 win over England in a friendly in March 2024. He was also part of the squad for the Copa America 2024, where they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage.

Endrick was born on July 21, 2006, in Taguatinga, Brazil. His father, Douglas de Sousa Silva Ramos tried to make it as a professional footballer but it didn’t work out well. He even abandoned his family for around six months to try to pursue football with several clubs but he returned eventually.

Endrick and other members of the family had to live in an orphanage when their father abandoned them. His mother Cintia is a housewife. He has a younger brother Noah and two sisters as well.
