The Frenchman was born on March 8, 2006, in Montreuil, France. He started playing football at the age of 4 for Aubervilliers in France. He got his license with the club in 2011 after he became five years old.
Zaire-Emery stayed with the club for three years before his impressive performances saw PSG sign him for their academy at the age of eight.
Club Career
At PSG, Zaire-Emery was so impressive that he used to play for youth teams above his age. For example, at 15 years old, he competed with PSG’s U19 side in the 2021-22 season. He was a key player for them as well. He registered one goal and one assist in a crucial 3-2 win over Club Brugge, helping his side qualify for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Youth League.
Zaire-Emery’s rapid progression saw Mauricio Pochettino call him up for the first team in the 2021-22 season at the age of 15 but he didn’t play. He made his senior debut in 2022 under new manager Christophe Galtier in a 2-0 win over Quevilly-Rouen in a friendly.
He signed his first professional contract that year and made his competitive debut in a 5-0 win over Clermont in Ligue 1. He became the youngest-ever player to feature for PSG at 16 years and 151 days.
He eventually also became the youngest starter, youngster starter in Ligue 1, youngest goal scorer, and youngest player to feature in the Champions League all for PSG. The Parisians won the Ligue 1 title that season.
Warren Zaire-Emery then became a key part of PSG’s squad in the 2023-24 season under new manager Luis Enrique. He made 43 appearances across competitions, starting 36 of those games. He also scored three goals and contributed seven assists in that time.
He won the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award as PSG won the title again.
International Career
Warren Zaire-Emery first played for France for their U17 side in the U17 Euros in 2022. He scored two goals as they won the trophy. He then moved to the U21 side in 2023 and was also named the captain by then-manager Thierry Henry.
The midfielder made his senior debut for France in November 2023 in a massive 14-0 win over Gibraltar in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers. He also scored in the match. He was also part of France’s squad at Euro 2024 where they reached the semi-finals but he didn’t feature in any match.
