Chelsea vs Burnley Player Ratings
Chelsea have dropped points at home to 10-man Burnley despite taking the lead twice in the match. A Cole Palmer brace was canceled out by Josh Cullen and Dara O’Shea in the second half to walk away with a point from the game.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were dominant in the first half, but failed to make any of their chances count. They needed a late penalty to open the account after Palmer converted with a panenka under pressure.
Burnley was down to 10 men just before the break but managed to score the equalizer just seconds after the second half started. The relegation battlers almost took the lead minutes later, but Pterovic managed to pull off a stunning save to deny Lyle Foster.
Substitute Raheem Sterling put Cole Palmer through on goal with a cheeky backheel, and the new signing made no mistake. He scored his 16th goal of the season and helped the Blues take a 2-1 load.
However, that lasted just three minutes as a mistake from Petrovic helped Burnley equalize after O’Shea got a free header. Jay Rodriquez hit the post right at the end of the game, while Sterling missed a header from inside the six-yard box – both missing chances to win the game for their respective sides.
