Chelsea set £50 million price tag for out-of-favor striker wanted by Wolves
Chelsea have reportedly set a £50 million price tag for striker Armando Broja, who is also on Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers’ transfer shortlist.
This is as per reports from Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, who has added that Mauricio Pochettino would let the Albanian leave for the right price.
Broja came through the youth ranks at Chelsea before being promoted to the first team back in 2020. Since then, he has been on loan spells to Southampton and Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem to boost his stock and gain valuable experience. However, he has scored double-digit goals for just Vitesse so far in his career, netting 11 times in 34 appearances.
The Slough-born striker has made 36 appearances for Chelsea’s senior team so far across competitions, scoring just three goals and providing two assists.
Standing at around 6-foot-3, Broja packs a powerful shot with both his feet and is also good in the air. He is strong, yet not very slow and can move around the pitch fairly well. He uses his physicality well against defenders marking him and is also a decent target man.
Despite not having found his feet at Chelsea, there is still a quality player in there as he has shown in phases during his loan spell with Southampton.
Chelsea also have Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in their striker arsenal. However, the former has struggled with injury while the latter has struggled to score, putting Pochettino in a soup this season.
Whilst the club remain linked with other targets, they must focus on offloading players currently on their books to manage Financial Fair Play. Clubs are likely to remain interested in Armando Broja but it is highly unlikely anyone would pay Chelsea’s exorbitant asking price for the striker.
