Chelsea intend to use Kepa Arrizabalaga to tempt Real Madrid for Andriy Lunin transfer
The Blues are repeatedly contemplating a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who is keen to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The 25-year-old goalkeeper received plenty of game time last season following Thibaut Courtois’ long-term injury.
Meanwhile, Kepa Arrizabalaga, who spent the last season on loan at Real Madrid, made 20 appearances in all competitions, but lost his place to Lunin in the second half of the campaign. But, with Courtois’ return to full fitness, Lunin will have to drop back to his role of number two and will not garner regular minutes at Real Madrid.
The Ukrainian international wants to play regularly and it would make sense for him to move elsewhere this summer. If Chelsea can provide him with the opportunities, Lunin would be a perfect signing for the West London outfit.
Arrizabalaga earlier expressed his desire to make a permanent move to Madrid and a swap deal in the summer could make sense for both Chelsea and Los Blancos.
