Canada 2-2 (3-4 on pens.) Uruguay: Player ratings as Celeste won bronze after a late equalizer
Uruguay beat Canada 4-3 on penalties to achieve third place at the 2024 Copa America. The Celeste went in front after eight minutes through Rodrigo Bentancur, but Ismael Kone equalized for the Maple Leaves 14 minutes later.
In a stunning turn of events, Jonathan David came off the bench and scored to make it 2-1 for the Copa debutants, but another substitute, Luis Suarez, equalized for Uruguay in the dying seconds to force a penalty shootout. Kone and Alphonso Davies missed their kicks, whereas the Uruguayans scored all four of theirs to win the game and the bronze medal. Here are the player ratings:
