Aston Villa to sign Amadou Onana following Moussa Diaby’s departure to Saudi

Aston Villa’s recruitment department wasted no time to fill the boots of Moussa Diaby who went to Saudi. As a replacement, The Villans signed Amadou Onana with a five-year contract and the deal was done for a £50 million fee.

Included in the contract agreement, a sell-on clause. With Onana accepting the fee and contract duration offer, the process is to be finalised next week as the player will undergo a medical procedure.

Onana spent two years with Everton, scoring four goals in 72 appearances for The Toffees. It is likely that Villa used profit from selling Diaby to sign Onana. On the other hand, what Everton earned from VIlla was more than double the amount of money they signed Onana from Lille.
