Watch: Budu Zivzivadze shines as Georgia inch closer to the UEFA Euro 2024
Budu Zivzivadze scored his sixth and seventh goal for Georgia to move the national team closer to the Euro 2024 finals. Willy Sagnol’s side will play their Path C final of the Euro 2024 qualifying round against the winner between Greece and Kazakhstan.
Zivzivadze had been assigned to cause problems for Luxembourg since the beginning of the game which was played in the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena, Tbilisi. He was fouled multiple times from minute one when he attemped to score an early goal. However, the first goal came in the 40th minute of the game.

Starting from a scrimmage situation after the corner was taken by Georgia, the ball glided to Zivzivadze’s path who delivered it into the top bin immediately. The host led before the break.
Coming to the second half, Zivzivadze bagged his seventh for the national team following a pinpoint pass from Levan Shengelia. The 2-0 stood still for Georgia until the full-time whistle was blown.
Georgia are one match away from making history
During the match, Zivzivadze delivered 16 successful passes out of 18 attempts. He had three dribble attempts but managed to do only one. However, he won three ground duels and was fouled twice.
Zivzivadze just played his 24th game for Georgia since debuting for the senior team in 2017. In the club level, the Kutaisi-born player has scored 10 goals in 24 matches for the second tier Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC.
If Georgia qualified for the Euro finals, that would be the first time for the Black Sea-side country. The closest they could get was in the 2020 edition when they lost to North Macedonia in the decisive match.
