Brentford Keen on Signing Real Madrid’s Fran Garcia Amid Bournemouth Interest
Fran Garcia is reportedly wanted by Brentford for a potential summer transfer move. The young left back from Real Madrid is on the wanted list of the Premier League club, who are in a race with AFC Bournemouth for this transfer.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Bees have a better chance than Bournemouth to land the Spanish left-back with their manager Thomas Frank’s history with the player. The Real Madrid academy product plied his trade with Rayo Vallecano in the 2020-21 season in La Liga under the stewardship of Frank and the manager is said to have grown keen interest in the defender. As the left-back position of Los Blancos is heavily guarded by Ferlan Mendy, Garcia is tipped to find a new home elsewhere to improve his game time. Therefore, Brentford might pip their English rivals Bournemouth to this Garcia deal, courtesy of the Thomas Frank factor.
Garcia was part of Real Madrid’s squad in all competitions including the prestigious Champions League. The left-back has already made four appearances in the European tournament, having recorded one assist as well in the process. He might cost around $18 million in this summer window.
