Chelsea finalize Renato Veiga transfer for around €14 million

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are finalizing a transfer for Portuguese youngster Renato Veiga. The Blues will be paying in the range of €14-15 million, and Veiga will have a medical check-up within hours.

Chelsea are looking for a reinforcement for their defending areas and Veiga is regarded for his ability to play in different positions.

The Londoners see the player as fit to play in the left-back, center-back, or midfield positions. Veiga has been in an ‘exile’ at Switzerland-based club FC Basel since August 2023, appearing in 23 games and scoring twice for the club.

Chelsea have struggled with injuries for the whole last season as several key players were going back and forth from the medical room to the bench. Veiga’s arrival is expected to overcome the issue.
