Breaking: AFC Bournemouth seals club-record transfer for FC Porto’s Brazilian striker
As termed in by ‘Sky Sports’, Premier League club AFC Bournemouth has agreed upon a club record transfer fee with Liga Portugal side FC Porto in order to sign Brazilian striker Evanilson in the ongoing 2024 summer transfer window.
The transfer fee involved in the deal is reported to be around £40.25 million (€37 million) (via Sky Sports). However, the deal is termed to include another potential sum of around €10 million as add-ons, which could take the entire ‘package’ to be worth €47 million.
Evalinson is set to travel to the United Kingdom to ensure the rest of the formalities of the deal and complete his Bournemouth signing.
This signing by the Cherries sort of makes a statement regarding where they aim to compete in the 2024-25 Premier League season. The club surprised many in the last league campaign, under Andoni Iraola as they managed to register a decent sum of points on the board and finish 12th on the standings.
However, with the departure of their talisman in front of the goal in the form of Dominic Solanke, it looked like Cherries might struggle for that cutting edge in terms of free-flowing scoring in the upcoming season. But, now with the arrival of Evalinson, things are starting to look promising once again for Iraola and his team.
If all goes as per the plan, one expects Evalinson to start for Bournemouth in their first game of the season against Nottingham Forest away at the City Ground.
