Aston Villa Plotting a move for Galatasaray’s Turkish International Winger: Report
The Premier League club Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a move for Turkish international winger Baris Alper Yilmaz. As per ‘CLARETVILLIANS’, the Galatasaray player is valued at around £25-26 million. Yilmaz had a decent 2023-24 season for the Turkish club. In addition to that, his performances in the Euro 2024 also caught many people’s eyes.
The 24-year-old played 37 matches in the last Super Lig season for Galatasaray. In these outings, he managed a respectable tally of 13 goal contributions (six goals and seven assists). In the Euro 2024, despite not registering any goals or assists for his country, the winger’s all-around performances, including his dribbling skills, consistent work ethic, and sheer pace proved a menace for the opposition defenders to deal with.
Even the veteran Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk was full of praise for Baris Alper Yilmaz in one of his post-match interviews. The 24-year-old does seem to be a tailor-made player for the Premier League. If Aston Villa does manage to get a deal done for him with Galatasaray, Unai Emery will have an exciting option in his squad for the next season.
He could possibly give competition to a player like Leon Bailey for a first-team position. Majorly playing as a right-winger, Yilmaz could also play as a left-winger, a right-back, a left-back, and a make-shift center-forward.
