Arsenal ready to explore an opportunity to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes

Kylian Mbappe coming to Real Madrid is not even officially announced but the French striker has reportedly become a threat to the current squad. The arrival of Mbappe would leave 23-year old forward Rodrygo Goes’ position in danger as he has to compete with the 2018 World Cup winner.

Arsenal are reportedly keen on exploring the opportunity to sign Rodrygo. The Sao Paulo native is on contract with Madrid until the summer of 2028 and BBC reported that Madrid has put a €1 billion release clause on Rodrygo. This means, if the London side are serious about taking him away from the Los Blancos in the near period of time, it would require a huge sum money.

Rodrygo is influential for Real Madrid

Rodrygo had put up an inspiring performance lately when Madrid beat Athletic Bilbao, taking them closer to the league title this season. He scored two goals in the game which was won by Madrid.

“He played very well. He made the difference, [and] he was able to score very early,” Ancelotti said after the game via Forbes. “He has a very high quality in his plays, that’s what he has to do. Now you can say he feels better on the left, but he’s good everywhere. Let’s not forget that he scored two goals playing down the right in a Champions League semifinal.”

The brace against Bilbao was Rodrygo’s ninth and tenth goal this season in the league. Overall, he has scored 15 goals for Madrid up to the latest game week with five other goals in the Champions League (three goals), Copa del Rey (1), and Supercopa (1).
