Arsenal plotting a move for goalkeeper Joan Garcia

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia who has recently returned from the Paris Olympics with a gold medal. The 23-year-old has identified as the backup to David Raya and the perfect replacement for Aaron Ramsdale who will sanction a departure this summer.

Ramsdale is expected to leave the Emirates either on loan or on a permanent deal as he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to Raya for one more season. He recently saw a request from Ajax turned down by Arsenal but the Dutch side are expected to be back with a new offer.

Garcia had a breakout campaign with Espanyol last season and the club will reportedly ask for around €25m for the Spaniard’s departure.
