Wolves shortlist ambitious move for Ajax center-back
According to the senior football correspondent of ‘GiveMeSport’ named ‘Jacobs Ben’, the Premier League outfit Wolves (Wolverhampton Wanderers) have reportedly identified Eredivisie club Ajax’s center-back Josip Sutalo as one of the potential targets in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Old Gold are expected to pursue a center-back option in this window, as the departure of their former captain and defender Max Kilman to West Ham United, has left a void in that part of the pitch.
Yerson Mosquera returning from his loan spell at Villarreal is capable of filling in Kilman’s shoe, but rumors around the Wolves’ hierarchy are suggesting that Gary O’Neil wants to have a look at the player in the pre-season. Also, Villarreal is heavily interested in getting him back in Spain. Considering all this, Josip Sutalo could end up at Molineux.
A player of his profile has proven experience at the highest level. As reported Gary OβNeil is planning to play a back four next season. Josip Sutalo could be a good fit for it. He has played in a back four at Ajax.
In the last Eredivisie season, Sutalo played 23 matches for Ajax. His contract with the club does run till June 2028. Any deal for Wolves might come at a decent transfer amount unless they go in with a loan option.
