Man United Miss Out on Jean-Clair Todibo
Manchester United’s hopes of signing Jean-Clair Todibo have ended as the player has reportedly agreed to join Juventus. While this news comes as a setback for United as they are eager to make significant moves in the transfer market this summer.
Todibo was one of the top targets for Man Utd but now he is set to move to Juventus after recent contacts. His current club Nice rejected a €35m bid from West Ham indicating a higher price tag.
Despite United’s strong interest UEFA rules have blocked the deal due to the ownership overlap between Nice and United through Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS. This restriction has forced Man Utd to step out of the race for Todibo, who was highly valued by manager Erik ten Hag.
Now Erik ten Hag faces increased pressure to find suitable alternatives so Manchester United are now exploring the possibility of signing Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt. Ten Hag who recently secured a new contract must ensure the team performs well in the upcoming season otherwise he might need to say his goodbyes sooner rather than later.
