Wolves Might Hand Debut to a 15-Year-Old Player Against Arsenal Amidst Injury Woes
Gary O’Neil struggling to find a playing eleven for the Wolves after injury doldrums
Dolding on the condition of the Wolves squad before the game against Arsenal on Saturday at Molineux, the Old Gold’s manager insisted on what could be a patched-up team that he would be forced to field against the Gunners. Hinting towards a possible debut for some of the players including the 15-year-old Wesley Okoduwa, O’Neil reportedly stated –
“There might be a debut or two from the start. Some of those on the bench I don’t know too well if I’m honest. One was pleased he got to miss his science lesson this morning so he could train with us. He’s ready for the game”.
However, despite Gary O’Neil taking all this in a sporty manner, one could only wonder if another manager maybe at a higher hierarchy than O’Neil would have accepted this mismanagement of the squad by the club’s owners considering this is their sixth season in the Premier League.
The European Push of Wolves de-railed by injury to big-name players
It will be fair to say that what could have been a season to remember for Wolves under Gary O’Neil is slowly turning out to be a rather mugged-up affair as the 2023-2024 Premier League campaign is approaching its end. Considering the job O’Neil has done from putting them into a position of a possible European spot at a stage in the league after what was predicted to be a relegation scraped campaign for the Old Golds.
One could only wonder if VAR wouldn’t have cost them a decent chunk of points by harsh calls and they would have their top scorers and assist maker in the form of Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-Chan, and Pedro Neto available consistently throughout the run of matches, where they would have possibly ended up.
