Tottenham’s backup striker Alejo Veliz to depart the club as room for a new frontman freed up: Report

According to transfer market expert ‘Fabrizio Romano’ and a recent report by ‘TEAMtalk’, Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur’s forward Alejo Veliz is on his way to joining La Liga side Espanyol on a season-long loan move. Reports further layout that the player has ‘already landed’ in Spain’s Barcelona (where Espanyol is situated).

Now this has got a wave of syndrome going across various English media outlets that the exit of Alejo Veliz who despite not getting that many chances recently under Ange Postecoglou was looked upon as a backup striker at the club, marks a way for the North London club to bring in an out-an-out striker that they have been craving for since this window opened.

Spurs have been linked with players like Ivan Toney, Jonathan David, and Dominic Solanke recently. ‘TEAMtalk‘ asserts that Tottenham is likely to not trigger Solnake’s hefty release clause of around £65 million at Bournemouth.

Instead, the North London club might shelve an offer of around £50-55 million plus a player in an alternative deal for the England international. And it is something that has been reportedly discussed within the club’s internal hierarchy.

While there is no doubt that a player of Solanke’s caliber could really deepen Postecoglou’s front-line strength, they might have to act quickly on this one before the transfer window shuts, in order to convince Bournemouth to sell their talisman.
