Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou willing to sign Conor Gallagher: Report

A recent report by ‘TEAMtalk’ backed by ‘Football Insider’, has put across that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur’s manager Ange Postecoglou is still keen on signing midfielder Conor Gallagher from arch-rivals Chelsea.

Tottenham has recently garnered around £23 million pounds (including add-ons) from Oliver Skipp’s sale to Leicester City. This has brought the club some financial gain, but has also left Postecoglou with only a few options to juggle across in the midfield among players like Archie Gray, Yves Bissouma, and Pape Sarr.

Conor Gallagher has been linked with a potential move to Spurs for quite a decent chunk of time now. The England’s international move to Atletico Madrid has failed to materialize, and he’s in the last year of his contract at Chelsea.

Football Insider has laid out that – Ange Postecoglou is currently monitoring Conor Gallagher’s situation at the Blues and has made it clear to the Spur’s hierarchy that he ‘would love to’ hijack the deal (the Chelsea-Atletico Madrid one) and bring Gallagher to Tottenham before the window shuts.

Gallagher does seem to have all the attributes to be a perfect foil for Big Ange’s style of football at Spurs. From his performances in the last Premier League season, it became evident that both his attacking and holding game have improved a lot in recent times.

At Tottenham, he might get significant playing minutes, which is understood to be not a perk for him at Chelsea now under Enzo Maresca.
