OFFICIAL: Barcelona signs winger Oscar Urena from Girona
Barcelona B and Girona have reached an agreement for the transfer of 21-year-old Dominican Republic winger Oscar Urena. The youngster, who will sign a two-year contract with Barcelona’s B team, spent the last season on loan at Leganes where he helped the side gain promotion back to La Liga.
The club’s official statement read as, “FC Barcelona and Girona FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Óscar Ureña, who joins Barça Atlètic and signs a contract for two seasons, until June 30, 2026.
“The Spanish-Dominican footballer passed the medical tests, got to know the facilities of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and stepped on the turf of the Johan Cruyff Stadium dressed as a Blaugrana.”
The versatile winger can play on any side of the attack and will hope to make an impact with Albert Sánchez’s side in the new campaign. Urena also participated in the Paris Olympics where he represented his country Dominican Republic.
