Brighton also showed character after their humbling at Luton Town with a dominant four-goal win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The first win of 2024 has brought back the energy at the South Coast after a roller-coaster first half-season.
With a spot in Europe still in hand, the Seagulls have favorable fixtures after this trip ahead of them. Roberto De Zerbi’s side just two places behind Tottenham but separated by a massive nine-point gap. Last season’s remarkable finish seems to have faded away quickly as they slowly build on their momentum this season. Brighton went winless in their last three matches with two goalless draws followed by a Luton defeat and a reviving result against the Eagles at the Amex.
Pascal Groß was at the heart of everything in Brighton’s 4-1 victory. The German grabbed two assists, one for Lewis Dunk’s opener and the other for Facundo Buonanotte taking his season tally to nine. This performance was enough to keep the number 13 at the top of the assist chart for this season.
Brighton will miss Simon Adingra, Joel Veltman, Julio Enciso, James Milner, and Solly March, with Kaoru Mitoma doubtful as well.
