Tottenham turn focus towards Manchester United midfielder: Report

According to ‘TEAMtalk’, Tottenham are likely to switch their attention toward Manchester United’s midfielder Scott McTominay in the ongoing summer transfer window. The London-based Premier League club are reported to be eyeing other options after a deal for Chelsea’s midfielder Conor Gallagher is not looking so promising at this stage.

While Spurs’ London neighbors Fulham were also tipped to be interested in McTominay, they are looking set to announce Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe in the coming days. So, that does make Ange Postecoglou’s side a front-runner for the signing of Scott McTominay in the coming days.

Spurs are still in the transfer market for an out-and-out striker as Richarlison’s future at the club is still in doubt. While that position still requires effort from the club’s hierarchy in the coming days, an additional midfield option is something that they can sort out quickly to give themselves some relief and satisfaction progressing ahead.

McTominay is the sort of player who can fit into Postecoglou’s plans at Spurs swiftly, considering the player’s willingness to make an impact on the game and be there in those attacking areas when it matters the most. Manchester United is reported to be demanding a fee of around £35-40 million for the Scottish midfielder.

If Tottenham wants to make him their priority signing this window, the transfer fee shouldn’t stand to be a problem for them.
