Tottenham Injury News: Pedro Porro and Richarlison fit to face Arsenal
Postecoglu will have more options as Pedro Porro and Richarlison are back
Tottenham Hotspur will have Pedro Porro and Richarlison for their crunch north London derby clash against Arsenal in the Premier League as manager Ange Postecoglu has been handed a selection boost.
Spurs host their arch-rivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, looking to dent Arsenal’s title hopes by inflicting a defeat upon them. Now, the Lilywhites have been handed a boost ahead of the clash with the return of Porro and Richarlison.
Porro was forced off with a hamstring issue during their 4-0 loss to Newcastle United, almost two weeks ago, but had returned to training, and could return to action this weekend. Richarlison had been struggling with a knee problem, but he, too, is now back in the fold and could see some minutes in the derby.
Speaking to the press, Postecoglu said:
“Pedro and Richy both trained all week so both available. Skippy picked up a small knock in training so he’ll miss this weekend.”
Apart from Skipp, Destiny Udogie will also not be involved against the Gunners, as the left-back underwent surgery on his left quadriceps and has since been ruled out for the remainder of their campaign.
Tottenham in race for top-four
With 60 points from 32 games, Tottenham Hotspur are currently in fifth position of the Premier League table, six behind Aston Villa but with two games in hand. However, their form has been patchy, with Spurs winning just two of their last five league matches, and losing twice, including the humiliating loss to Newcastle United. Unless their form improves, Tottenham could lose out on Champions League once again.
