Tottenham in line for Pedro Neto as Wolves boss Gary O’Neil aware of the Winger’s fate
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a potential transfer move for fellow Premier League club Wolves’ winger Pedro Neto. The Portuguese set the league alive with his swashbuckling performances last season. Despite missing a hefty chunk of 18 games due to injury concerns, Neto managed to register 14 goal contributions to his name.
Other English clubs that have been linked with Pedro Neto are Liverpool and Arsenal. Tottenham has already secured the signing of Timo Werner (on loan), and Archie Gray (permanent move) this summer window. However, a player like Neto could strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s squad depth.
Transfer market expert ‘Fabrizio Romano’ has earlier inflicted that Tottenham are looking to add at least one more forward to their roster in this window. They have also been linked with players like Eberechi Eze and Jonathan David recently.
Meanwhile, Spurs’ interest in Neto could be fueled by the factor that Wolves’ coach Gary O’Neil has admitted to the fact that the Portuguese winger could well leave the club before the window closes. But he also made clear that he would like to keep the 24-year-old and believes there are chances Neto could stay at the Old Gold for now.
“I know how good he (Pedro Neto) is and I know how well he would do at a big club”. “Obviously I want our team here to be unbelievably successful. So I am hoping that he stays”, O’Neil reportedly stated to Express and Star in a recent interview.
The Old Gold’s boss further inflicted – “I think so (on the chance of Neto staying). There’s nothing going on at this moment from anybody. He’s in a good spot, I’ve spoke to him about how we’re going to play and how it suits him and what a big part he’ll play in it”.
