Some talking points as Chelsea recorded their first win in the pre-season
Intense drilling session
Enzo Maresca’s practice sessions involve a passing drill where the players are encouraged to work the ball from to back through the opposition’s defence. This is something that the new manager wants the squad to perfect before the commencement of the Premier League season.
Versatile Malo
The versatile French defender has been used as an inverted full-back by the former Leicester City manager who also gets moving into the midfielder in certain aspects of the game.
Players are united
Despite the recent controversy surrounding Enzo Fernandez, he was offered the captain’s armband when Reece James substituted against Club America. Wesley Fofana spoke to the media before the game citing Enzo’s apology has been accepted.
Christopher Nkunku’s return
The Frenchman scored three goals in Chelsea’s last three friendlies and has been a constant goal threat throughout this pre-season tour.
