Tottenham hopes to add a left-back to their squad before the transfer window shuts: Report
As per a recent report by ‘Hotspur HQ‘, renowned football journalist and transfer market expert ‘Fabrizio Romano’, expressed while speaking to ‘GiveMeSport’ that Premier League Tottenham Hotspur might chip in with a late signing before the ongoing transfer window shuts.
Romano has cited that Spurs might be on the lookout for a left-back to add to Ange Postecoglou’s squad in the remaining days of the transfer window. While Big Ange does have players like Destiny Udogie, Sergio Reguilon, and Ben Davies to fill in that role at the club, there are reasons for him to look out for another left-back.
Udogie’s injury track record does tend to overshadow his recent impressive performances, while Ben Davies has been deployed as more of a left-sided center-back by Spurs’ team management, and finally, Reguilon is expected to depart the club.
Fabrizio Romano reportedly expressed – “Look, for Tottenham, I think there is still a possibility, yes, maybe, to find an opportunity. For example, a left-back could be an opportunity that they could follow in the final, final days of the window.”
So, there is some belief that Tottenham could sign potentially one more player before the window closes, but it remains to be seen if the club does take any action. Spurs stumbled upon a 1-1 draw against Leicester in their opening game of the season but later smashed Everton 4-0 at home in their second fixture.
