Tottenham eyeing a transfer for AS Monaco’s right-back
As per a recent report by ‘TEAMtalk‘, Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur’s manager Ange Postecoglou is keen on a transfer target in the form of Brazilian right-back Vanderson from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
Spurs have recently witnessed the departure of Emerson Royal to Serie A’s AC Milan, which left a void in the options that Postecoglou is left with at the defensive right side of the pitch.
Although Pedro Porro is termed to slotted in as the first choice right back by the manager this season, as witnessed in Tottenham’s opening clash against Leicester City at King Power, the North London club will need more options to secure a hassle-free run.
Another option in the form of Djend Spence, who joined from Middlesbrough in 2022, hasn’t managed to leave much of a mark at Spurs till now. However, Postecoglou reportedly admitted that Spence could be drafted back into the first-team plans.
‘TEAMtalk’ has laid out that Big Ange has identified Vanderson as someone who could fit his style of play at Tottenham. The report inflicts that the Premier League club has lined across a bid of around £27 million for the Brazilian.
Also, the expectation from AS Monaco’s hierarchy is that Vanderson is likely to depart the club before the window shuts, amidst severe interest from Spurs. Tottenham being keen on Vanderson further makes sense, as their transfer plans for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze currently lie in the doldrums.
