This is what Real Madrid has to pay if they are to sign Alphonso Davies this summer
While he joined Bayern Munich as a left-winger, then Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac, and later Hansi Flick, turned Alphonso Davies into a left-back to fill a hole. However, the Canadian’s performances since then have been nothing short of phenomenal with Davies establishing himself as one of the best in his position. That’s despite various injury niggles over the years although that hasn’t stopped the 23-year-old from being linked with a move away.
Real Madrid has reportedly been after him for years with several other European big-wigs also in the running although reports have pointed to the Los Blancos being the front-runners. The Madrid giants are reportedly looking to sign defensive reinforcements next summer and Davies is at the top of their list. Furthermore, reports have indicated that Davies’ relationship with Bayern has deteriorated after they failed to reach an agreement on an extension to his current deal which expires in the summer of 2025.
Bayern Munich want €70m to sell Alphonso Davies
It has attracted Real Madrid’s attention once again but Bild have reported that Bayern Munich have set a €70m asking price for any potential suitors. The Bavarian giants see the 23-year-old as one of the best in his position and believe that their asking price is worth his value. Furthermore, Bild has further reported that the German side are only open to selling because they believe it would be difficult to extend Davies’ contract now.

The club did have an agreement in place over a potential €12m/per year contract with Davies’ representatives but that agreement fell apart after Hasan Salihamidžić was sacked. Now, reports have indicated that Davies has asked for €20m/per year while Bayern are unwilling to go over €14m/per year. Thus the club have no intention of losing the 23-year-old on a free transfer at the end of the 2024/25 season and are willing to part with the left-back albeit for a significant transfer fee.
Real Madrid believe they can sign Davies for under €50m
However, despite the reported figure, Football Espana has reported that Real Madrid are more than confident that they can sign Alphonso Davies for less than €50m. The Los Blancos are reportedly set to start talks at around €35m for the full-back and believe they can reach an agreement. Not only that, Cadena Ser has reported that the Madrid side plans to offer Davies a four-year contract and are confident he wants to sign for them.
But the reigning German champions are looking at a fee closer to €70m and thus reaching a consensus with them might be slightly more complicated for the Los Blancos. Yet despite that, Cadena Ser has reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is 90% confident of securing a deal as he’s willing to play on Bayern Munich’s desire not to lose Davies for free.
