Switzerland vs Germany Player Ratings: From Niclas Füllkrug to Kai Havertz as Germany Tops Group A
Germany have managed to finish as the Euro 2024 Group A winners thanks to a late goal from Niclas Fullkrug. The hosts managed to draw 1-1 in their final group stage match to end with 7 points from three matches.
Dan Ndoye gave Switzerland the lead just before the half-hour mark with a smart move inside the box. He moved in front of Tah and nudged the ball into the net, while Neuer was jumping the other way to collect the ball.
Switzerland looked all set to collect all three points, but Fullkrug came off the bench to save Germany. The striker’s header in injury time saw them get a point from the match and finish as group winners.
Switzerland National Football Team Player Ratings vs Germany
GOALKEEPER
Yann Sommer – 6: Conceded a poor goal in the first half, but was saved by VAR. There was nothing much he could do about the goal from Niclas Fullkrug at the very end.
DEFENDERS
Fabian Schär – 7: Hardly put a foot wrong today and was making it hard for Havertz and Wirtz throughout the match.
Manuel Akanji – 7: Had a really good game but his shoulder played Niclas Fullkurg onside at the very end and that saw them finish 2nd in the group.
Ricardo Rodríguez – 7: Won all his duels and made some good blocks. However, he could have done a lot better for the goal conceded.
MIDFIELDERS
Silvan Widmer – 6.5: Quiet match for the right wing-back as he was hardly involved. Kept losing possession and did not win any of his duels.
Remo Freuler – 7: Was always available to mark out Kroos and stop the German from getting close to the Swiss box. Was key to keeping Gundogan quiet too and got the assist for their goal.
Granit Xhaka – 6: Very lucky that he arrived a second earlier on Musiala or else it was bound to be a red card for the Swiss captain.
Michel Aebischer – 6.5: Was a lot more involved in the game and his link-up play saw them take the lead.
FORWARDS
Fabian Rieder – 5.5: Hardly made an impact today and was taken off after the hour mark. No shots, zero successful dribbles and he won just 3 of his 8 duels.
Dan Ndoye – 7: His brilliant move and awareness gave Switzerland the lead in the match. Was a tough player for the German defense to handle and ensured that was the case until he was taken off.
Breel Embolo – 6.5: No goal or assist today, but his movement was hard for Rudiger and Tah to track. The Germans were relieved to see him leave the pitch after the hour mark.

GOALKEEPER
Manuel Neuer – 6: Got caught off-guard for the goal and there was nothing much he could do about it. Conceded once more in the second half, but was saved by the flag. Made an excellent save late in the game.
DEFENDERS
Joshua Kimmich – 6.5: Relatively quiet match today for the right-back today. Was caught out of position in the second half, but got saved by the offside flag.
Antonio Rüdiger – 6: His extended leg put Ndoye onside and that saw the Swiss take the lead.
Jonathan Tah – 5: Lucky to have not got sent off in the first half after climbing on top of Embolo. Was hooked off at the hour mark for Schlotterbeck.
Maximilian Mittelstädt – 7: Pick of the German defenders today, but was taken off in the second half for a more attacking fullback. Hardly put a foot wrong.
MIDFIELDERS
Robert Andrich – 6: Scored a brilliant goal, but unfortunately for him, Musiala had committed a foul seconds before the shot and it was ruled out. Overall, had a decent game before going off at the 65th minute.
Toni Kroos – 8: Controlled the flow of the game and ensured Germany stayed in possession. But his deliveries into the box from corners and freekicks were of no use as the forwards failed to convert.
Jamal Musiala – 6: After shining in the first two matches, Musiala failed to deliver today. Had just one shot before he was taken off in the second half.
İlkay Gündoğan – 5.5: A performance to forget from the captain. Was hardly making any impact but still managed to play the full 90 minutes.
Florian Wirtz – 6: Similar to Musiala but he failed to get any shot away. Tried to drive into the box at every chance, but failed to get through.
FORWARDS
Kai Havertz – 5: Easily one of the worst displays from a forward at EURO 2024. Kept missing his chances and his only shot on target was easily saved.

Nico Schlotterbeck – 6
Maximilian Beier – 6
